New Gas Deal for Poland

Poland’s PGNiG and Russia’s Gazprom have agreed a new contract for gas deliveries to Poland.

The Poles plan to order 9 billion cubic metres of gas this year, 9.3 billion next and more than 10 billion in 2012, Prime-Tass reported.

Precise figures can be amended to meet the buyer’s needs.

Putin warns of Conflict over Gas Supplies

We have previously predicted a reply of last January’s energy crisis, following the cutting off of Russian gas supplies transiting the Ukraine. Now Prime Minister Vladimir Putin appears to have confirmed our fears, warning of another potential winter gas war between the two countries that could again affect fuel supplies to much of Europe.

Yesterday (7 Sept), Dmitri Medvedev discussed Gazprom's operational priorities in Russia, gas-sector cooperation in the Caspian region, and relations with gas consumers in Belarus and Ukraine with Alexei Miller, Gazprom's chief executive.
